Feeling 'hangry' may be rooted in science and not all in our heads: New study

A clinical study out of the U.K., published in peer-reviewed journal PLOS One, suggests that feeling hungry is associated with higher levels of anger and irritability.
"We believe this is the first time that a link with negative emotions has been demonstrated with two different forms of self-reported hunger." A "greater awareness of being ‘hangry’ could reduce the likelihood that hunger results in negative emotions and [behaviors] in individuals." The research suggests that having the ability to label an emotion can help people regulate it.
"Wish I finished my breakfast sandwich, but my stubborn self decided not to and now I’m getting hangry," American snowboarder Chloe Kim tweeted during the recent Winter Olympics.
