Hamilton and the surrounding area is under a winter storm warning as up to 25 centimetres of snow is expected to accumulate Sunday, says Environment Canada.
"Conditions will rapidly deteriorate this morning," says the federal agency. "Travel will be hazardous and not recommended."
While the heaviest amount of snow is expected to fall Sunday morning, it will continue until the evening, Environment Canada says.
Snow has been falling on and off since Saturday morning.
All of southern Ontario is under a winter storm warning, with more snow expected over the Niagara Escarpment.
The City of Hamilton has closed all programs and facilities including recreation centres and arenas due to the weather, it said in an update. It's also monitoring if Family Day programming Monday will be impacted.
