Egg prices have hit a record high of $4.95 per dozen in the United States, about a month after analysts predicted that prices would continue to rise amid the bird flu outbreak.
That record was set in January 2023, said data provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, prices did not stay that high for long and by May 2023, the average price of a dozen eggs had fallen to $2.67. Christine Rousselle is a lifestyle reporter with Fox News Digital.
The average price of a dozen eggs increased by 80 cents from December to January. In December, the average price for a dozen Grade A eggs was $4.15.
