EAGLE IGP advises students to help police combat drug menace

Inspector General of Police Ake Ravi Krishna highlights the importance of medical professionals and warns against drug abuse among youth.
Inspector General of Police and EAGLE Director Ake Ravi Krishna emphasised the crucial role played by medical professionals by stating that doctors offer a second life after birth.
Participating as the chief guest for the Freshers’ Day event at NRI Medical College in Mangalagiri on Thursday, he advised students to strive for excellence in their career. He warned against the growing menace of drug abuse among youth.
He noted that the Andhra Pradesh government has established the ‘EAGLE’ to check the peddling and use of ganja and drugs. He urged the citizens to report activities related to drug abuse and related issues on the toll-free number 1972.
The event was attended by college Dean Dr. N. Lakshmi, Medical Superintendent Dr. G. Srinivas, Principal Dr. V. Siva Prabodh, and other dignitaries.
A training session on environmental monitoring of paddy fields was conducted for the farmers of Thenpathu village near Manur in Tirunelveli district recently. The benefits of using lesser amounts of pesticides, the need to protect crops from the onslaught of insects and worms, and the importance of producing non-toxic food items were highlighted in the training.
