“Daily Show” correspondent Desi Lydic on Tuesday looked at the latest plot twists in the saga of Matt Gaetz, the scandal-plagued former GOP lawmaker from Florida who is also Donald Trump’s pick for attorney general.
A lawyer for two women said his clients testified that Gaetz paid them for sex and to travel with him, and one said she saw him having sex with a minor.
“Your future attorney general, everyone,” Lydic said. “It’s always the people you most expect.”
Gaetz allegedly paid the two women to come to New York to watch him appear on Fox News, see the Broadway version of “Pretty Woman,” and have sex.
Lydic needed a moment to stop herself from laughing before responding.
But whether Republicans can get these kinds of cuts through Congress is complicated.
