New York Times analyst Nate Cohn said President-elect Donald Trump had effectively destroyed Democratic Party hopes of a permanent, multicultural majority.
"This overarching pattern requires an overarching explanation: Mr. Trump’s populist conservatism corroded the foundations of the Democratic Party’s appeal," Cohn wrote.
