COVID-19 hospital admissions down to 63 in London, Ont., ICU patients fall to 12

The London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) on Thursday reported 63 inpatients with COVID-19, down by eight from the previous day and 28 from the same day last week. The number of patients in ICU beds fell by four to 12.
Of the total, the hospital network in southwestern Ontario said:
The number of staff who have tested positive for the virus is sitting at 136, up by two from the previous day.

Restaurants, gyms and cinemas now have no limits on capacity, as of 12:01 a.m. ET Thursday, though masking and proof of COVID-19 vaccination are still in place. Other indoor spaces that are using the proof-of-vaccination system are also no longer subject to capacity limits, while sports arenas and theatres can open to half capacity.
Social gatherings and public events can include up to 50 people indoors, and settings deemed higher risk like nightclubs and sex clubs can open to 25 per cent capacity. Outdoor social gatherings can have up to 100 people and organized events have no limit on the number of people if they are held outdoors.
The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) is lifting its Section 22 Order for food and drink establishments, along with its letter of instruction to sports and recreation facilities to coincide with the provincial changes.
Starting March 1, proof of vaccination will no longer be required in any indoor setting. Before March 1, proof of vaccination will still be required for anyone 12 years and older.
The health unit reported another 91 COVID-19 cases among people in high-risk jobs or settings on Thursday. The seven-day rolling average for daily high-risk cases is down to 86.
The MLHU didn't report any new deaths on Thursday. There have been 35 deaths in Middlesex-London this month, and 335 total deaths since the pandemic began.
Booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be available for children aged 12 to 17 starting Friday.
The health unit is also hosting a Superhero Day on Monday, inviting children who are getting a shot to dress up in their favourite costume. The event is taking place at the mass vaccination clinics at Earl Nichols Recreation Centre and the Western Fair District Agriplex, along with pop-up clinics at Aberdeen Public School and Sir Arthur Carty Catholic School. Ontario reported 1,342 people with COVID-19 in the province's hospitals, down by 61 from the day before. There were 356 patients who required intensive care, down by eight from Wednesday.
The Ministry of Health reported 37 more COVID-19-related deaths across Ontario, bringing the death toll to 12,204 since the pandemic began.
