College student killed after hitting median in Chennai’s Taramani

Tragic accident claims life of 19-year-old college student in Taramani, investigation underway by Guindy Traffic Investigation police.
A 19-year-old college student, riding a two-wheeler was killed after he dashed into a median in Taramani in the early morning on Sunday (April 6, 2025). The Guindy Traffic Investigation police have filed a case and are investigating.
A senior officer of the City Traffic Police said the victim, Devadarshan — a native of Tiruvannamalai, was staying at a relative’s house in Velachery and studying third year in a private college in the same area. At around 1 a.m. on Sunday (April 6), he was riding a two-wheeler towards his house, allegedly at high speed on the Taramani Link Road, when he lost control of his vehicle and dashed into the median. He was killed on the spot after suffering injuries to his head and bodies.
The Guindy Traffic Investigation police on being alerted sent the victim’s body to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post mortem.
