Despite the singer's initial reservations, her daughter “earned” the opportunity to perform, she said.
Beyoncé is admitting that she hesitated to let her eldest child, Blue Ivy Carter, join her onstage during her Renaissance tour last year.
Speaking with GQ for its October cover story, the 32-time Grammy-winning singer said that despite those initial reservations, her 12-year-old daughter “earned” the opportunity to perform alongside her during the global tour.
“She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage,” Beyoncé said in the story, published Tuesday.
The “Single Ladies” crooner, who also shares twins Rumi and Sir with husband Jay-Z, gushed over her eldest child.
“Blue is an artist. She has great taste in music and fashion. She is a fantastic editor, painter and actress,” her mother shared. “She has been creating characters since she was three.”
