The “White Lotus” actor was slated to present at the event but did not attend following the death of her husband Jeff Baena.
Aubrey Plaza received condolences from the Golden Globes stage following the death of her husband, director Jeff Baena, on Friday.
“The Brutalist” director Brady Corbet acknowledged the actor as he accepted the award for best director of a motion picture.
“I’d like to take the opportunity to thank and acknowledge three people that I lost while making this picture: my grandfather James, his brother Jerry and my dear friend Kevin Turen, who I miss every day. I wouldn’t be standing here tonight if it were not for their influence,” he said. “Finally, tonight my heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family.”
The “Parks and Recreation” star had been announced on Jan. 2 as one of the presenters at the awards show, but she did not attend.
Her husband died by suicide on Friday, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner. He was 47.
