Actor Posani Krishna Murali remanded for derogatory remarks against political figures, facing 14-day judicial remand in Railway Kodur.
The Junior Civil Court in Railway Kodur of Annamayya district in the early hours of Friday (February 28, 2025) pronounced a 14-day judicial remand for actor and former APFDC chairman Posani Krishna Murali in connection with the criminal cases filed against him by the Obulavaripalle police under the BNS sections, amounting to derogatory remarks Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and their family members.
Earlier, the police brought Mr. Krishna Murali to the Obulavaripalle police station from Hyderabad around noon, and Superintendent of Police V. Vidyasagar Naidu led the interrogation until 9.00 p.m.
After conducting the medical tests for the second time, the police shifted the actor to the Railway Kodur court. Senior advocate Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy argued the case for the accused, contending against using the BNS Section 111 in criminal charges. However, admitting the police remand report, the judge gave his verdict, remanding the actor. The police are making arrangements to shift him to Kadapa sub jail.
Mr. Krishna Murali was arrested on Wednesday night on the charge of creating animosity among the people. He reportedly told the police that he was unwell and undergoing treatment. The police, however, handed over a notice informing his arrest to the family members and shifted him.
