Five years after COVID-19, Pew Research Center conducted a survey to gauge Americans’ views on the current COVID risk and how the pandemic was handled.
Around 21% of respondents said they still consider COVID-19 to be a "major threat" to the health of the U.S. population, down from 67% in July 2020. 80% of Americans say they "rarely or never" wear a mask in stores and businesses. More than half (56%) of Americans say COVID-19 isn’t something to worry about, with 39% believing people do not take it seriously enough, the survey found.
