Real Madrid on Thursday said that Zinedine Zidane is leaving his job, five days after a season in which Madrid failed to win a title for the first time in more than a decade.
Zinedine Zidane has resigned as Real Madrid coach five days after his team failed to defend the La Liga title, the Spanish club said on Thursday. Zidane’s side finished two points behind La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, with a total of 84, following a 2-1 victory over Villarreal on Saturday. They were dumped out of the Copa del Rey in the third round by minnows Alcoyano, while their Champions League challenge ended at the semifinal stage by Chelsea. The Spanish giants have failed to win a single trophy in a season for the first time since 2009-10.More Related News
