ZIM vs BAN: Nurul Hasan Sohan said that Bangladesh need to up their game in the T20 format after they lost 1-2 to Zimbabwe in Harare.
Bangladesh T20I skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan admitted that the Tigers need to up their game in T20 cricket. Sohan’s comments came after his team lost the T20I series against Zimbabwe 1-2 at the Harare Sports Club. On Tuesday, August 2, Bangladesh lost to Craig Ervine’s Zimbabwe by 10 runs after failing to chase down 157.
After losing back-to-back series at the hands of Zimbabwe and West Indies, Bangladesh are set to take part in the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup, which will also be played in the T20 format.
Bangladesh are scheduled to start their campaign on Tuesday, August 30 with their opening match against Afghanistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Sohan, in the meantime, said that the defeat in Zimbabwe won’t have any effect on Bangladesh’s campaign in the Asia Cup.
“We have a lot of room for improvement in T20s. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are both very good opponents. Even if we give our 100 percent and make some improvements in the areas of deficiency, the results will be good,” Sohan was quoted as saying.
We need to focus on the areas of improvement so that we can do well in the Asia Cup and the World Cup. There is still some time for the Asia Cup. A different tournament. I don’t think it will have any effect,” he stated.
Sohan also shared an update on his finger injury, saying that he is most likely to recover in around three weeks.
