Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his address to the US House of Representatives, reiterated his wish for a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
Ukraine President Zelenskyy in his address to the joint session of the US Congress on Wednesday, invoked 9/11, Pearl Harbor bombings to request a no-fly zone over Ukraine amid intense Russian attacks.
Zelenskyy reminded the US Congress of the Pearl Harbor attack by Japan in 1941, and the September 11 terrorist attacks by al-Qaeda in 2001 and said Ukraine is under a similar situation following relentless Russian attacks for over three weeks.
"I have a need. If that [no-fly zone] is too much to ask, provide Ukraine with fighter jets. We know what kind of defense system we need. S-300 and other similar systems...In the darkest time for our country, for the whole of Europe, I call on you to do more" he said, claiming that Russian troops have turned the 'skies into a source of death'.

"Today the Ukrainian people are defending not only Ukraine. We are fighting for the values of Europe and the world, sacrificing our lives in the name of the future. That’s why today the American people are helping not just Ukraine, but the world, to keep the planet alive, to keep justice in history," he added.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine is under full-scale Russian invasion that Europe has not seen since the Second World War. He said the Russian invasion was about more than just Ukraine, it was about democracy, about freedom, and about choice.
