Yuzvendra Chahal says Virat Kohli has made good contributions: Problem is we just think about his 100s

India's Yuzvendra Chahal has defended Virat Kohli and said that the star batter has made meaningful contributions with the bat despite going through a lean patch.
India's legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal has said that Virat Kohli has made meaningful contributions with the bat in recent times and the problem arises when the focus is just on his hundreds.
Kohli has been going through a rough patch in international cricket, with his last century coming way back in 2019. This has brought the star batter under the scanner for his performances.
However, Chahal feels that the former India captain has made good contributions with the bat during his lean patch. The legspinner, while talking to Sports Yaari, as quoted by NDTV.com, said that the problem at the moment is that the focus is solely on Kohli not being able to score hundreds and people tend to forget the valuable knocks he has made during this time frame.
"If there is someone who has 50+ average in T20Is, he has been the Man Of The Tournament in two T20 World Cups, he has 70 hundreds across all formats. You just see his average across all formats, the problem is we just think about his 100s, we don't talk about those valuable contributions of 60-70 because of the standards he has set," said Chahal.
Chahal further went on to claim that no bowler wants to bowl to Kohli when the star batter has a few runs behind him during a match.
"If he is there at the crease and has 15-20 runs behind him, I am telling you no bowler wants to bowl to him," said Chahal.
