Youth are an asset to the country, and the future belongs to them. Their role is crucial in the development of the nation, said MLC P. Ashok Babu, addressing the gathering at the National Youth Day celebrations, held to mark the birth anniversary of Swamy Vivekananda, at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada on Sunday, January 12.
The MLC said that youth should make use of the many opportunities available to them today and grow in their careers. He urged them to follow in the footsteps of the philosopher and spiritual leader Swamy Vivekananda and achieve great heights.
Department of Youth Services Commissioner K. Sarada Devi said that though Swamy Vivekananda’s life was cut short, his messages remain relevant for the next 1,500 years. Officials from the Department of Youth Services, faculty and students from different colleges in the city took part.
