While campaigning for an MLC election candidate in Ghatampur, Uttar Pradesh minister Rakesh Sachan asked voters to decide if they want "pauva [booze]" or power.

Assuring people that there would be continuous development in Ghatampur, Rakesh Sachan said, "If you need pauva, then go to the other side and if you need power, then support Avinash Chauhan."
Rakesh Sachan said this while asking voters to support Avinash Chauhan who is set to contest the UP MLC election from Ghatampur.

Rakesh Sachan recently visited Ghatampur town in Kanpur Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. His convoy was accorded a rousing welcome late at night at Sachan Guest House on Musamagar Road in the town .
When asked why there was no minister in the Uttar Pradesh cabinet from the Kanpur district this time, Rakesh Sachan said, "This is the decision of party high command and is acceptable to all...the minister is of the state and not just of a district.
Rakesh Sachan, who won the Bhognipur seat, has been awarded the post of minister in the newly-formed Uttar Pradesh cabinet.
