The Mi-17 V5 chopper carrying Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and 12 others had crashed into a hillside in the Nilgiris district on December 8.
Chennai: The top Indian Army official representing the five Southern States visited Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiri district on Monday (December 13) to personally thank and felicitate the first responders, Government machinery, and locals who risked life and limb to conduct search and rescue at the Mi-17 V5 chopper crash site.
The chopper carrying Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife and 12 others had crashed into a hillside in the Nilgiris district on December 8.
13 lives were lost in the crash, while the lone survivor Group Captain Varun Singh continues to remain in critical care.
