Yes Bank-DHFL case: Avinash Bhosale lodged in CBI guest house, next hearing on May 30

Avinash Bhosale was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday in connection with the Yes Bank-DHFL case.
Multi-millionaire business tycoon Avinash Bhosale, who was arrested in connection with the Yes Bank-DHFL case, will be lodged at the CBI guest house. The Pune businessman was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday.
The probe agency (CBI) had on April 30 conducted multiple raids at multiple locations in Mumbai and Pune. Premises linked to builder and businessman Shahid Balwa and Pune-based businessman Avinash Bhosle were raided by the CBI officials.
Avinash Bhosale was arrested by the probe agency on Thursday, May 26.
The CBI had sought a 10-day remand of Avinash Bhosale. However, as the application could not be decided upon, Avinash Bhosale will remain in the CBI guest house.
The matter will be taken up for hearing on Monday, May 30.
Meanwhile, Avinash Bhosale’s lawyer, Vijay Agarwal, has called the arrest “illegal”.
The CBI is investigating Yes Bank co-founder Rana Kapoor and DHFL and its promoters Kapil and Dhiraj Wadhawan for causing loss to Yes Bank. During the investigation, it was found that Rana Kapoor had allegedly received kickbacks of Rs 650 crore for an investment of Rs 3,700 crore made by the bank in housing finance company DHFL's debentures. Another 750 crore was given by Yes bank to a DHFL linked company named Belief Realtors.
