An FIR has been registered against controversial preacher Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati for calling for the demolition of madrasas and the Aligarh Muslim University.
Controversial preacher Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati has been booked for a statement where he allegedly called for the demolition of madrasas and the Aligarh Muslim University using "gunpowder".
On Sunday, Yati Narsinghanand was in Aligarh to attend a program of the Hindu Mahasabha. Speaking about the ongoing survey of unrecognised madrasas by the Uttar Pradesh government, Yati Narsinghanand said there should not be an institution like a madrasa.
"All the madrasas should be blown up with gunpowder, just like China does. All students of madrasas should be sent to camps so that the virus called Quran should be removed from their brains," Yati Narsinghanand could be heard saying in a video.
Yati Narsinghanand further said that just like the madrasas, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) should also be blown up and its students should be sent to detention centers and their brains should be treated.
This is not the first time that Yati Narsinghanand has been booked for hate speech. He was arrested earlier in the Haridwar hate speech case last year. The seer was later released.
Yati Narsinghanand was recently booked for making controversial remarks against Mahatma Gandhi. In a video that went viral, Yati Narsinghanand could be heard saying that “Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the murder of one crore Hindus” and other things.
Speaking at the program in Aligarh, Yati Narsinghanand also hit out at the Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra, calling it a "joke".
