It is currently unknown whether the brand will also unveil the Xiaomi 12 Ultra model. It is also unclear whether the Xiaomi 12 series will make its way to India or not. Last year, the brand launched only the Xiaomi 11 Ultra. We will have to wait for a few more days to know more about this.
The global Xiaomi 12 event will be live-streamed via official channels of Xiaomi, including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook as well as Xiaomi’s own website. Ahead of the launch, the European prices of these devices have already leaked. The Xiaomi 12X could be priced at EUR 600-700 (Rs 50,370 to Rs 58,770), whereas the regular Xiaomi 12 model could cost EUR 899. The Xiaomi 12 Pro could come with a starting price tag of EUR 1,099. The rumour mill suggests that Xiaomi would offer 128GB storage as the base model.
It is worth noting that the Xiaomi 12 series is already available in China and the price starts from CNY 3,699 (around Rs 43,400). The Xiaomi 12 Pro price is set at CNY 4,699 (around Rs 55,100). If Xiaomi plans to launch these devices in India too, then they are expected to cost in a similar price range.
In China, the Xiaomi 12 and its Pro version ship with a flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The same chip is also powering the OnePlus 10 Pro and the latest Samsung Galaxy S22 series. The standard Xiaomi 12 model features a 4,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It offers a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS support. It is paired with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 5-megapixel macro camera.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro, on the other hand, features a slightly bigger battery. It packs a 4,600mAh unit that has support for 120W fast wired charging. At the back, there are three cameras, including a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX707 wide-angle sensor with OIS support. It is assisted by a 50-megapixel portrait sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. Both the devices have a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
