Veteran India wicketkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha, speaking to India Today, said that the second tweet clearly shows that the journalist has not apologised.
Veteran India wicketkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha has said that his second tweet clearly shows that the journalist has not apologised. Saha also confirmed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have also reached out to him in order to take action against this ‘journalist’ but he has mailed the board the entire story.
In an exclusive chat with India Today, Saha stressed that BCCI asked him the name of the scribe but he has refrained from revealing his identity. Saha also said that he is not interested in revealing the name of the person who threatened him and understands that it could damage his/her reputation and career.
"The second tweet clearly shows that the guy has not apologised. BCCI supported me and asked me for the name, I have not told them the name so far. I have mailed them the entire story," Wriddhiman Saha told India Today in an exclusive chat.
"Giving the person to think about what he has done and if has any regret, if he does change, then I have to think. Had he apologised I would not have tweeted the second time. Such things happen. My motive is not to draw controversy but tell people that such things happen," Saha added.
Saha, 37, who has been dropped from the Indian team, had taken to Twitter to allege that one "respected" journalist took an aggressive tone after his refusal to grant him an interview. "After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so-called 'Respected' journalist! This is where the journalism has gone," Saha had tweeted.
The Indian Cricketers' Association (ICA) has condemned the “threatening” message to veteran wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha by a senior Indian journalist. The BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal has also said that the board will look into the matter and speak with Saha.
