T20 World Cup 2021: Outgoing India head coach RavI Shastri said India players were mentally and physically tired at the showpiece event and were not able to step up during the high-profile matches. Shastri said it's not an excuse for India's early exit but a big learning from their campaign in the UAE.
India's outgoing head coach Ravi Shastri said on Monday that the biggest learning from India's campaign at the T20 World Cup 2021 is the importance of rest before a major tournament, adding that the players found it difficult to be switched on during the big games.
Ravi Shastri, whose celebrated tenure as the head coach comes to an end after Monday's Super 12 match in Dubai, said India players were mentally and physically tired after having been on the road, spending time in bio-bubble environments amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Shastri maintained that it's not an excuse but something that the team can keep in mind for the future.
