India Today
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for CBI, told the Bombay High Court that it would be failing in its mandate if it did not investigate all the issues related to the corruption case against former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) told the Bombay High Court on Wednesday that it would be failing in its mandate if it did not investigate all the issues related to the corruption case against former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh. The division bench of Justices S S Shinde and N J Jamadar had been hearing the petition for the last few days and during the fag end of the arguments, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for CBI, told the court that the central agency was following the mandate that had been given to them. Mehta said there was a specific allegation in former Mumbai Police commissioner Param Bir Singh's letter that there are large scale malpractices in the state home minister's office related to transfers. Mehta pointed out that former Mumbai cop Sachin Waze is also mentioned in Singh's letter.More Related News
