A hand grenade believed to be of World War-II era was discovered during metro excavation work at the premises of an educational institute in Maharashtra's Pune city on Tuesday. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) immediately rushed to the spot. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, the hand grenade was spotted by a security guard at the premises of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Baner area. "During the excavation work, an old, rusted grenade was found in the soil at the site located on the premises of IISER. The grenade is of HE36 series which dates back to WW-II era," DCP Pankaj Deshmukh said.More Related News
