Works less, talks more: BJP MP’s jibe at former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan

BJP MP Prataprao Chikhalikar has slammed former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan over poor roads in his constituency, Nanded.
Days after rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde took charge as the Maharashtra Chief Minister, BJP MP Prataprao Chikhalikar, slammed Nanded Congress MLA Ashok Chavan over bad roads in his constituency.
“I don’t even need to take his name. That’s his habit. He works less and talks more. He has done nothing in the last two and a half years,” said the BJP MP from Nanded.
Chikhalikar said Chavan’s constituency was in a pathetic state as it was filled with potholes and that the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government and the public works department didn’t do anything to correct the potholes in Nanded.
Since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP MP and Chavan have never seen eye to eye on any matter. “He feels I defeated him, not realising that it’s the people who voted against him and he has made it very personal since then,” said Chikhalikar.
“The condition in Nanded is very bad and it is my responsibility to bring out the truth about my area. As an MP I have done my work to the best of my ability, but the potholes in Nanded need to be filled by the state government. These are the roads under the state government,” said Chikhalikar.
The BJP MP further said that as an MP he was responsible for the national highways. “Nitin Gadkari made 561 km of national highway which has never been done by anyone before. But the roads are a state subject and the Zila Parishad and PWD under the Congress should take care of it,” he said.
The MP said he tried to approach Chavan and work in coordination, but all his efforts went in vain.
