"Working To Reduce Government Interference In People's Lives": PM Modi
NDTV
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said his government is "working to ensure minimum government interference" the lives of Indian middle class families, and called on all levels of administration to work towards improving ease of living on "mission mode".
The Prime Minister was delivering his annual Independence Day address to the nation from the ramparts of Delhi's Red Fort, when he said, "Middle class gives a lot to nation; expects quality life; will be our endeavour to ensure minimum government interference."
Mr Modi made a similar statement in February this year, when he said he wanted the government to have minimum presence in the lives of India's middle class, which is seen as an economically and politically crucial section of the nation's population.
