
Woodstock resident dead, another injured, after shooting in city's south end

Police in Woodstock, Ont., east of London, are investigating after one person was killed and another injured from gun shot wounds Thursday night in the city's south end.
They were called to reports of gun shots in the area of Champlain Ave at 7:30 p.m. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The second person was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is expected to recover, police said in a statement.
A firearm has been recovered, and the investigation has so far revealed that the two people were know each other.
There is no risk to the public, and as of Friday morning, no charges had been laid.
Woodstock police are asking anyone with information about the investigation, or who may have video surveillance of the area at the time of the incident, to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
