Won't leave any citizen behind: PM Modi at post-budget webinar
India Today
Speaking at a post-budget webinar on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Budget 2022 lays out a "clear roadmap to achieve this lofty goal of saturation."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about how provisions in the Budget 2022 will help India’s villages grow faster. He reiterated the government's focus on technology and its aim to 'leave no citizen behind'.
"The focus is on new technology to ensure speedy completion of projects without compromising the quality," PM Modi said.
"Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas are the driving force behind our government's policy and action," PM Modi said.
"In this budget, a clear roadmap has been laid out by the government to achieve this lofty goal of saturation," PM Modi said.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a Rs 39.45 lakh crore budget for the financial year 2022-23 on February 1 this year. The Opposition leaders criticised the government, saying that the Union Budget has nothing for the middle class, poor and farmers.
However, PM Modi and Nirmala Sitharaman maintained that this year's Budget has its farmers and rural India at its core.
PM Modi said the Union Budget presented by Nirmala Sitharaman was "people-friendly, progressive" and full of possibilities for infrastructure, investment, growth and jobs.
