Women to get 50% concession in state-run buses in Himachal Pradesh, says CM Thakur

Marking the 75th Himanchal Day, CM of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur announced a 50 per cent fare concession for women passengers travelling in HRTC buses. Around 125 units of free domestic electricity will be provided in the state, he said.
The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur, has announced a 50 per cent concession for women passengers travelling on HRTC buses.
Celebrating the 75th Himachal Day, he made several announcements, including a discount on bus fares for women and free domestic electricity up to 125 units in the state.
Along with this, the water bills will be waived off in rural areas, adding that the Jal shakti Department earns Rs 30 crore from water bills in rural areas.
CM Thakur said that the state government has been working in the interest of the poor section and keeping this in view, the government will provide free electricity, up to 125 units. Earlier, it was decided to provide free domestic electricity, up to 60 units.
All women will be charged only half the fare on buses. Previously, they had to pay 75 per cent of the fare to travel on government buses.
During the event, Chief Minister Thakur also saluted the march past presented by the contingents of Police and Home Defense personnel.
Around 12 contingents, including the NCC and NSS Police Band participated in the parade. He also honoured the team leaders of the contingent who participated in the march past.
