The Kerala High Court has ruled that women should not be denied employment on the grounds of the night shift. The court said that the government and the authorities have an obligation to create a working atmosphere for women at all times. The high court, in its order, has quashed the provision that women cannot apply for the post of safety officer in the Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd (KMML) factory at Chavara in the Kollam district of Kerala as it is unconstitutional and discriminatory. Kerala High Court judge Anu Sivaraman made this historical judgment. The court also ruled that the factory law, which was brought in to make women safer, should not become an impediment for them.More Related News
