Women's cricket cannot be person-based, it has to be issue-based: Former India coach WV Raman

Former India coach WV Raman urged the women's cricketing fraternity to identify and iron out its bigger issues rather than focus on the players' individual problems in each team.
Former Indian women's cricket team coach WV Raman identified the biggest problem in the sport and emphasised on how everything needs to be issue-based rather than focus on every individual. Raman was recently replaced by former India spinner Romesh Powar as the women's team coach even after he guided Harmanpreet Kaur's side to the final of T20 World Cup in 2020 and produced decent results despite more than the year-long Covid-19 forced break. The selection panel appointed Powar even after being aware of the issues he had with veteran Mithali Raj in his previous stint as the coach. ODI skipper Raj had accused Powar of bias after she was dropped from the T20 XI for the all-important World Cup semifinal against England.More Related News
