Russia-Ukraine war news updates: A woman ran onto the set of a live TV news show in Russia with an anti-war sign on Monday evening. She has now been arrested.
During the live evening news bulleting on Russian state-owned Channel 1 on Monday evening, a woman holding an anti-war sign ran onto the set and stood behind the presenter. The sign read, “No war, stop the war, don’t believe the propaganda, they are lying to you here”.
The woman, identified as Marina Ovsyannikova, was later arrested for the same and is currently in police custody as per reports. She works as an editor at Channel 1.
During the broadcast, she could be heard saying ‘Stop the war’ before it was quickly cut to a pre-recorded news report.

Earlier, she recorded a video of herself in which she referred to the Russian invasion as a ‘crime’ and said she was ashamed to have worked for “Kremlin propaganda”.
"I'm ashamed that I allowed myself to tell lies from the television screen. Ashamed that I allowed Russians to be turned into zombies," she said.
