A gang of miscreants tried to snatch the bag of a woman from front of St Agnes College gate as part of a police mock drill. However, she fought the robbers and saved herself.
A gang of assailants tried to snatch the bag of a woman near Upper Bendore on Sunday morning. Mangalore Police later clarified that the incident was part of a mock drill conducted to assess public and police response to crimes on the streets.Around 11 am, the men who were travelling in a car without a number plate, tried to snatch the woman's bag in front of St Agnes College gate. The woman fought one of the miscreants and appealed to bystanders for help. Within seconds, a crowd came to her rescue. However, the assailants managed to escape in their car.According to police, the woman has allegedly been identified as Shobha Kateel, who imparts self-defence training to women.
