Woman critically injured in explosive Ottawa crash caught on camera

Dashcam footage sent to CTV News shows a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction before striking and damaging a hydro pole.
Ottawa paramedics say a woman suffered critical injuries after a serious single-vehicle crash in the city's east end on Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened at approximately 3 p.m. on St. Laurent Boulevard near the intersection of Innes Road.
There were no other injuries reported.

The crash caused power outages for nearby businesses and residents.
"We're aware of a power outage in Alta Vista impacting 570 customers. The cause is a vehicle making contact with a primary conductor. Crews have been assigned and are on-site working to safely restore power as quickly as possible," Hydro Ottawa said on X.
Rogers is also reporting fibre internet and phone outages for customers in parts of Vanier and Orléans as a result of the crash.
