A woman constable of RPF saved the life of a passenger who got stuck in the gap between the platform and moving train.
A woman constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) saved a woman passenger who got stuck in the gap between a moving train and the platform at Chakradharpur Railway Station in Jharkhand, while boarding the train.
The incident took place at around 6:26 pm, when the woman lost her balance while trying to board the moving train, Chakradharpur-Howrah Express (18012), from platform number three. She slipped and got stuck in the gap between the train and the platform and was dragged along by the moving train. RPF constable Waheeda Khatoon, who was on duty on the platform, immediately rushed and pulled her out.

Speaking about the incident, Constable Waheeda said, “ AS soon as I noticed the passenger had fallen while boarding the train, I ran to save her life. Took a sigh of relief after she was saved”.
BK Sinha, SHO of Chakradharpur RPF Post, praised Constable Waheed Khatoon and said, “Waheeda Khatoon fulfilled her duty faithfully and saved the life of a passenger. For this bravery, Constable Waheeda Khatoon will be rewarded by the senior officers of RPF”.
