A 33-year-old woman who claims to be daughter-in-law of MLA Roshanlal Verma has decided to challenge him in the poll fray as she filed her nomination from his Tilhar assembly seat.

Sarita Yadav filed her papers Thursday as a Rashtriya Samaj Party candidate, saying she decided to challenge Verma as he "harassed" Muslims and Yadavs as a BJP MLA.
Verma had won the last polls as a BJP candidate but recently switched over to the Samajwadi Party which has fielded him from the seat.

Talking to newspersons at the time of filing of her nomination, Sarita Yadav said she would ensure justice to the people allegedly "harassed" by Verma.
She also claimed that she was getting widespread support from the public in Tilhar constituency.
When contacted over Yadav's claims, Verma told PTI over phone that the she is working to tarnish his image.
