A woman has been booked for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 26-year-old man who used to live in her neighbourhood in Thane.
A woman has been booked under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 26-year-old man in Thane.
As per PTI reports, the man, identified as Vikram More, ended his life by hanging himself in his house on August 16. A suicide note was recovered from the spot alleging that a woman in his neighbourhood had taken money from him but was refusing to return it, said a Thane police official.
According to the suicide note purportedly written by More, he needed his money back to clear debts but the woman was threatening to implicate him in cases if he continued to demand repayment, the official said.
While the woman has been booked, further investigations are on.
