Woman blocks highway in Dhanbad to protest against husband's second marriage

Pushpa Devi alleged that her husband Umesh Yadav used to physically abuse her and married another woman without divorcing her.

In a bizarre incident, a woman and her family blocked the GT road in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad to protest against her husband who had remarried. The aggrieved woman had approached Nirsa Police Station but to no avail. Her complaint was not lodged despite repeated pleas. But when she and her family took the matter to the streets and blocked the GT road, police swung into action and assured her that an FIR would be filed and action would be taken.
