Witness in twin leaves symbol case found hanging in Tamil Nadu

Gopinath, a 31-year-old man, who was allegedly involved in the twin leaves symbol case, was found hanging in his house on Wednesday. He had gotten a call from officials on Tuesday regarding an inquiry into the case. Police said that no suicide note has been found so far.
Gopinath, a 31-year-old man who is said to be involved with conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar in the twin leaves symbol case, was found hanging in his house in Thiruverkadu on Wednesday, April 6.
The case was filed in 2017 after allegations that TTV Dhinakaran party had sought the help of Sukesh Chandrasekhar to bribe officials to get the AIADMK party’s legendary twin leaves symbol to be allocated to his party, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), where he is the general secretary.
TTV Dhinakaran had allegedly paid Rs 10 crore to bribe officials.
Gopinath had reportedly received a phone call from officials regarding an inquiry into the case on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, Gopinath was found hanging in his house. Thiruverkadu Police, who have initiated an investigation, claim that no suicide has been recovered so far.
The ED began another round of investigations into the case. It has taken custody of Sukesh Chandrasekhar and are conducting their inquiry.
Summons have also been issued to TTV Dhinakaran to appear before the ED on April 8.
