Former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha wants to see Deepak Hooda feature heavily in the upcoming tour of West Indies.
Former cricketer Pragyan Ojha has said that he wants Deepak Hooda to feature heavily in the three-match ODI series against West Indies.
Hooda has been impressive since making his debut for India and showed great form during the Ireland tour where he slammed a hundred in the second T20I. Even against England, the 27-year-old played a valuable knock in the first T20I which India won. However, he was dropped from the lineup for the next two matches.
With a lot of senior stars being rested, many hope that Hooda will get a chance to show his skills once again during the series against West indies. Former cricketer Ojha has now commented about the all-rounder and told Cricbuzz that he is eager to see him featured heavily in the upcoming tour.
“I wish to see more of Deepak Hooda because he has shown a lot of promise. He has overcome a lot of hurdles in domestic cricket and made his place in the Indian team. I am curious to see how he performs,” said Ojha.
RP Singh, who was also part of the discussion, named Hooda as one of the players to watch out for during the series. The former Indian pacer also wanted to see Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh get an opportunity during the tour.
“Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda and Arshdeep Singh are the players I want to see being given an opportunity in the series. I have been impressed with Arshdeep’s bowling, not only skill, but also the temperament with which he bowls. He has bowled well in slog overs in high-pressure matches. It would be interesting to see what mark he leaves if he is given a match to play,” said Singh.
India will be playing three ODIs and five T20Is during the upcoming tour of West Indies.
