Hamilton is bracing for a winter snowstorm, with as much as 25 centimetres of snow falling over the next two days.
Environment Canada says heavy snowfall will start late this evening, and Hamilton will see blowing snow overnight. The forecaster says 10 to 15 centimetres of snow will fall.
Winds will also gust to 50 kilometres per hour after midnight, and temperatures will drop to -7 C, with a windchill of -14 C.
Environment Canada says on Monday, five to ten centimetres of more snow will fall on Hamilton, with winds gusting to 50 kilometres per hour. The snow will end in the afternoon and give way to cloudy skies.
It will be a cold day too, the agency says, with temperatures around -6 C Monday and a windchill near -14 C.
Monday night will bring a 40 per cent chance of more snow and a low of -5 C, Environment Canada says.
The snowfall is the result of a low pressure system tracking south of the Great Lakes, the agency says, and some parts of Ontario could see as much as 40 centimetres of snow.
