Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Ottawa, calling for snow and freezing rain Sunday evening through Monday morning.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Ottawa, while a winter storm warning is in effect for Gatineau.
"It's kind of the first big slap in the face for the season," said Environment Canada meteorologist Steven Flisfeder in an interview with CTV News Ottawa. "The morning commute on Monday will be affected."
Environment Canada says a low-pressure system tracking east across the Great Lakes will bring snow and freezing rain to the national capital region.
"The storm is going to start this evening with snowfall. For the Ottawa area in general, we're looking at 5 to 10 cm of snow," said Flisfeder in an interview on Sunday afternoon.
