Hardik Patel has organised a big event to mark the first death anniversary of his father. However, due to the ongoing rift between the Patidar leader and Congress, the party leaders are yet to decide on whether to attend the event.
Amid the ongoing rift between the Gujarat Congress and Patidar leader Hardik Patel, a big event is being organised on the first death anniversary of the latter's father in Ahmedabad on Thursday. However, the Congress leaders have yet to decide whether they will attend or not. The media, too, will be present at the program.
On Wednesday, Gujarat Congress president Jagdish Thakor said, "We will think about whether to go or not."
According to sources, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel is very likely to be present for the program. There are also talks of prominent BJP leaders likely to attend the event.
Hardik Patel had recently tweeted and is continuously speaking against the party's functioning and state leadership. Thakor said, "As I learnt about Hardik Patel's tweet, I immediately called him. Earlier too, when he said a few things in the media, I had personally called Hardik. He said that we'd speak after his father's death anniversary. We believe in having a conversation on whether disciplinary action should be taken as it is about a party's internal matters, and can't be discussed in public."
When asked about speculations of Hardik joining the BJP, Thakor said, "There are news reports about Hardik Patel planning to join the BJP. But I think he is the best person to give a clear picture of the same."
