Will seek death penalty for Yasin Malik, says prosecutor in Air Force personnel killing case | EXCLUSIVE

Special Public Prosecutor Shaila Kumar Bhat, handling two cases against Yasin Malik, has claimed that he would seek death penalty for Malik for killing an IAF personnel in 1990.
After the conviction of Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik in a terror funding case, focus has now shifted to two other cases - the Kidnapping of Rubaiya Sayeed in 1989 and the killing of IAF personnel in 1990. Malik is under trial in both these cases in a Jammu court.
Speaking exclusively to India Today, Special Public Prosecutor Shaila Kumar Bhat said he would seek death penalty for Yasin Malik in the 1990 case.
After conviction of Yasin Malik in terror funding case, focus now shifts to other cases pending against him. Four unarmed Indian Air Force personnel were shot dead by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) terrorists in Srinagar in 1990. In 2020, a court in Jammu framed charges against Malik and six others in relation to the case.
Bhat said, "Will seek death penalty for Yasin Malik in the Air Force Personnel killing case. I'm 100% sure he will get the death penalty."
