B P Yatnal deliberates on political future, considering forming new party based on Hindutva principles, amid BJP suspension.
“I will not take any decision on my political future in a hurry. I have three years before the next assembly polls,” Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda R. Patil Yatnal, who has been expelled from the BJP, said in Saundatti on Monday. He was responding to claims by some of his supporters that he would form a new regional party based on Hindutva.
He claimed that there is a strong demand from across the State for a regional party based on Hindutva principles. “While people are willing to support me with money, some others are willing to give their time. Some leaders have also extended their support. But I do not want to rush it. I will travel through all districts, meet my supporters and Hindutva activists before coming to a decision. I may form a new party or go back to the BJP. But that is conditional. I will not go back if the B.S. Yediyurappa family continues to control the state BJP. I would like to remind the State leadership that,” he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made a promise to the people of this country that he will not tolerate family politics, corruption and adjustment politics in his party, he said.
“Let the BJP implement this promise in the Karnataka unit, then I will go back. Not until then. Why should I go there? Should I go back to the BJP to make B.Y. Vijayendra the CM or B.Y. Raghavendra’s son the next state BJP president?,” he asked.
“I come from a Hindutva family. I will not go elsewhere. But the accused current leadership is sidelining core party workers,’‘ he said. To a query, he said that the RSS was doing its responsibility of shaping responsible citizens of the country and strengthening Hindutva. “But the BJP leaders who claim to be trained by the RSS were going astray and leading immoral lives,’‘ he said.
“Some leaders may have suspended me. But the people will suspend them for that. I will weigh all my options before making a move. There are no immediate plans for organising rallies in my favour or anything like that,’‘ he said.
He criticised some politicians and Panchamasali community leaders for commenting on the political stand taken by Kudala Sangama seer Sri Basava Jaya Mrutyunjay Swami in supporting him.
