Even as the BJP called for Nawab Malik’s resignation after he was arrested in connection with a money laundering case linked to Dawood Ibrahim, the NCP stated that they will not bow down to the saffron party.
The BJP demanded the resignation of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik after he was arrested in connection with a money laundering case registered against Dawood Ibrahim. Reacting to the saffron party’s demand, the NCP said they will not bow down to the BJP, as per sources.
Following his arrest, BJP leader Chandrakant Patil demanded Nawab Malik’s resignation and threatened protest if the Maharashtra minister didn’t resign.
“Nawab Malik has been arrested, he should resign now. We demand his resignation. If he doesn't, we will protest. How are they running the government? There's a long list of allegations against Maharashtra ministers, will get tired reading it,” State BJP chief Chandrakant Patil was quoted as saying by ANI.
