Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood has said that it would not be difficult to replace captain Aaron Finch from the T20Is. The pacer said that there are many senior members in the squad to take up a leadership position.
Australia have several experienced T20I players who can readily take over the team , in case captain Aaron Finch decides to retire from the shortest format of the international game, said fast bowler Josh Hazlewood on Wednesday, 14 September.
White-ball captain Aaron Finch recently retired from the 50-over format after an extended rough patch. He is expected to concentrate better on the T20 World Cup, where Australia are set to defend their title at home.
Asked how difficult it would be for Australia to have a new captain for the World Cup, Hazlewood said the team had senior players ready to step up.
"All teams at the moment really feel like they're quite senior and there's a lot of guys who sort of take the leadership upon themselves when they're out there in the middle doing their chosen skill," he told reporters at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Australia have powerful T20 players in the squad, who have made a name for themselves across the world.
"There's quite a lot of experience out there in the middle and I think it would be quite easy for the next captain to come in and just seamlessly transition."
