Vijay Deverakonda is all excited about Liger, where he will be seen playing a boxer. During the Mumbai trailer launch, he was asked if Liger would be a boon to Bollywood or the South. Here’s what he said.
Vijay Deverakonda makes his Bollywood debut with Liger. In the film, he will be seen playing a boxer with speech impairment. The actor, along with co-star Ananya Panday, launched the trailer for Liger in Hyderabad on July 21 before coming to Mumbai for yet another mega launch. During the press conference held in Mumbai, he was asked about his debut and how he previewed it - a boon for Bollywood or South? To this, the actor said that he felt he is living his dream.
At the Mumbai trailer launch of Liger, Vijay Deverakonda was asked if the film is a boon for Bollywood or South. To this, the South star answered, “I see it as me getting to live a dream. A personal dream of mine and I see it as I love telling stories, love telling them to a huge audience in huge auditoriums, and what bigger auditorium than India? I see it as a personal dream and ambition coming to life.”
Vijay Devarakonda will be seen with Ananya Panday for the first time. Ananya has been all praise for the actor. She even went ‘hot damn’ when asked to comment on his abs in the film. Both Vijay and Ananya will also be seen appearing together in Koffee With Karan 7.
About Liger, the film is helmed by director Puri Jagannadh. The film was jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh, Karan Johar and Charmme Kaur. Ananya will make her Telugu debut with this film, while Vijay will make his foray into Bollywood. Mike Tyson makes a cameo in the movie. Liger will release in theatres on 25 August 2022.
